The Tesla Model S was one of the first mass-produced electric vehicle to be seen on roads around the world. Since then, the carmaker has become the global leader in the vehicle electrification arms race.

The Model S/X cars run on a suspension layout that Powerflex recognized from well-known and much-loved European brands, but weigh in at about 30% heavier than a similarly sized 5 Series sedan.

With astonishing acceleration figures, hefty curb weight, and stock bushings made of natural rubber, it’s no surprise that these cars run through bushings and ball joints rather quickly — leading to knocks and clunks from the suspension, and accelerated tire wear.
