The RaceChip RX is attached between the accelerator pedal sensor and the engine control unit. Simple plug & play installation means that it can be fitted without any prior technical knowledge. The signals emitted by the accelerator pedal sensor are adjusted via specially tuned characteristic curves. This results in a more linear torque demand on the electric motor and increased energy recovery when the accelerator pedal is released. As a result, less energy is lost and energy recovery is improved during braking; the same battery capacity will cover a longer distance.

Brainbox:

The Brainbox is the RX’s brain, controlling the processes required to optimize throttle response and communicating with the RaceChip app via Bluetooth, allowing you to control it via your smartphone. Thanks to its handy size (approx. 70 x 80mm), the Brainbox is very easy to store and fix in the footwell of your vehicle. It doesn’t impact the driver’s legroom due to its low height. It is also possible to mount it in other locations, such as in existing bays or slots, as well as on smooth surfaces in the vehicle.

Bluetooth Connectivity
Unlike most tuning solutions, RaceChip tuning boxes allow you to connect your smartphone to the tuning box to make changes. Straight out of the box you’re able to switch between three performance levels: Efficiency, Sport, and Race. If you need a customized tuning file, RaceChip can provide a modified tuning file which you can install on the tuning box.

Tuning Box vs ECU Tuning
What makes RaceChip special compared to many other tuning companies is the type of products they offer. Many tuning companies offer ECU flashes AND tuning boxes, but RaceChip offers just tuning boxes.

A “tuning box” works by capturing sensor outputs such as MAF, Oxygen Sensors, TPS, Ignition, etc, and modifying the signal before the vehicle’s ECU receives the signal. With this type of system, your OEM ECU is left completely stock.

Unlike many tuning boxes on the market, RaceChip tuning boxes are intelligent. They work more like small computers and modify sensor signals in real-time, compared to traditional tuning boxes which don’t modify the signals in real-time.

Compared to ECU flashing, installing a tuning box is very easy and does not require overwriting your OEM ECU with a new file. With a “plug and play” design, it’s easy to uninstall a tuning box without a trace of it ever being installed on the vehicle.

Installation

Installation:
• Disconnect the plug from the original plug adapter on the accelerator pedal.
• Connect the Brainbox to this original plug adapter.
• Mount the Brainbox on a smooth surface in the footwell.
• Set up the RaceChip+ app to control the RX.
• Done! Now you can drive and save. Have fun!

• The RaceChip RX does not affect battery life, the smoother power output actually protects battery cells and can extend battery life
• The connector attaches to the sensor with a simple lock. The plug can be easily removed by releasing this lock. You will find detailed information on how to do this in your user manual.
